New Delhi, Oct 26 (IBNS): Four boys, aged between 10 and 12, were detained for allegedly being involved in the death of an eight-year-old boy at Begumpur village near Malviya Nagar in south Delhi on Thursday, media reports said.

The police were informed about the incident after the child succumbed to his injuries at a private hospital around 6 pm on Thursday.

The victim reportedly got into a scuffle with the accused boys over playing on a vacant plot around 10 am.

As a result the child suffered internal head injuries.

The deceased child, identified as Azeem, was a student of Darul Uloom Faridiya madrassa.

The other boys also belong to nearby areas.

According to reports, Azeem and other students from the Madrassa were playing cricket when the accused asked them to leave the spot.

When they refused, a scuffle broke out in which Azeem got injured.

He lost consciousness and was rushed to a private hospital by the clerics of the madrassa.

Azeem was soon admitted to ICU and was declared dead on Thursday evening.
