8 people injured in clash over land dispute in Assam

Guwahati, May 27 (IBNS): At least eight people were injured as two groups clashed over a land dispute in central Assam’s Nagaon district.

According to the reports, the incident took place at Roumari village under Dhing police station in the central Assam district where two groups clashed over a land dispute on Saturday.

In the clash, at least eight people were injured and they were immediately admitted at Dhing civil hospital.

Local people alleged that, one group had fired another group by using handmade gun.

Meanwhile, police seized a handmade gun.

Officer-in-Charge of Dhing police station Arpan Saikia said that, following the incident a police team rushed to the area and seized a handmade gun.

Dhing police has registered two different cases (no 212/2018 and 213/2018) in connection with the incident and arrested four persons.

“We have already registered two cases and arrested four people in connection with it,” Arpan Saikia said.
