8 killed in Telangana bus mishap

Hyderabad, Aug 22 (IBNS); At least eight people were killed as the bus, in which they were travelling, fell into a roadside irrigation canal on the Khammam-Hyderabad highway in Telangana on Monday, reports said.

According to reports, the mishap has left 18 others injured,

The bus was on its way from Hyderabad to Kakinada in Andhra Pradesh when the mishap occurred.

"According to sources, the speeding bus rammed into the parapet wall of the bridge across the Nagarjunasagar Project (NSP) left bank canal before nose-diving into the irrigation channel," The Hindu reported.

Police rushed to the spot and the injured people were rescued and taken to hospital for treatment.
