7 NDFB(S) militants apprehended in Assam, arms seized

Guwahati, Jan 9 (IBNS) : Security forces apprehended seven militants belonging to National Democratic Front of Bodoland (Sangbijit), including two hardcore militants involved in the recent massacres, and recovered a huge cache of arms and ammunition in Assam's Kokrajhar district on Friday, police said.

Assam police IGP BTAD  LR Bisnoi said that army and police had launched jointly operation at Kachugaon area in the district and nabbed seven NDFB(S) militants.

Security forces recovered four AK-47 rifles, one HK-33 rifle, one M-16 rifle, one insas rifle, four 9mm pistols, six magazines, 12 hand grenades, 300 rounds live ammunition from Thausiguri area near Kachugaon reserve forest in the BTAD district in separate operation followed capture of the militants.

"Among the nabbed militants are two hardcore extremists Mithinga and Khureil who were involved in the recent massacre   in Kokrajhar and Sonitpur districts left more than 80 people death,"  Bisnoi said.
