7 killed, 28 injured as fire breaks at Mumbai high-rise building

Mumbai, June 7 (IBNS): Seven people were killed and 28 others were injured after a fire broke out at a high-rise residential building in Mumbai's western suburbs on Saturday, reports said.
The fire broke out at 5:30 pm on the 14th floor of the 22-storey Lake Home Society Building No.3 in Chandivali in Andheri.
 
Three people died after being stuck inside the lift of the building.
 
The injured have been taken to hospital soon after the accident.
 
Eight fire engines were rushed to the spot to douse off the fire.
 
"An investigation is being conducted by the fire brigade. The fire was possibly a result of a short circuit that occured in flat 1403 of the building," NDTV quoted Vinayak Deshmukh, Deputy Commissioner of Police.
