4.8 earthquake hits Uttarakhand
Dehradun, Sept 29 (IBNS): An earthquake measuring 4.8 on the Richter Scale hit Pithoragarh district in Uttarakhand on Tuesday, officials said.
The epicentre of the quake was located at Lat. 29.7°degrees north and Longitude 80.3 degrees east in the state and at a depth of 33 kms, India Meteorological Department website said.
IMD has called the intensity of the earthquake, which hit at 14:57:17 hrs, as 'slight'.
No casualty or damage to property has been reported so far.
