New Delhi, Sept 20 (IBNS): Over 200 militants are waiting across the Line of Control (LoC) to enter into Indian territory, Indian Army has said.

According to media reports, a huge number of militant is waiting across the border waiting to infiltrate in Kashmir.

"There are around 200 heavily armed terrorists across the Line of Control waiting to infiltrate into the Kashmir Valley," Lieutenant General Subrata Saha, the General Officer Commanding of Srinagar-based 15 Corps, is quoted by media as saying.

He expressed doubts that the militants are trying to take advantage of the flood situation. He said, in the past ten days, several-cross border infiltration attempts were made, but the army foiled them including two incidents in which five infiltrators were gunned down.

While giving information about the latest infiltration plot that was foiled by Army on Saturday, he said that around 200 militants were still active in the entire Valley and that the security grid of the army was in place to “neutralise" them.

He mentioned that the Indian Army on Saturday has killed four militants in Jammu and Kashmir's Kupwara district.

The Army said the militants were killed 'during infiltration' in Tangdhar sector.

"Four terrorists killed during infiltration in Tangdhar, Kupwara, J&K. Operation in progress," the Indian Army tweeted.

Saha assured that 'robust' counter terrorism and counter insurgency grid in place that dreaded foreign militant Umar Bhat was recently killed in the Rajwar forest area in Kupwara district.

"Three infiltrators were killed in the Keran Sector and two were killed in the Machil sector in the last ten days," Lt General Saha added.

He said, "Even though we too suffered damage in the recent floods as more than 50 per cent of the cantonment area was inundated but we never allowed the security grid to weaken."
