2 jawans injured in IED blast in Kashmir

Srinagar, Oct 16 (IBNS): Two Army jawans have been injured in a landmine blast planted by militants in Jammu & Kashmir's Baramulla on Thursday afternoon.

The incident occurred when an army convoy was on its way to Baramulla. Army sources said, when the convoy reached North Kashmir’s Chakloo Rafiabad, the IED went off and damaged the army vehicle.  Two jawans got injured in the blast. They were rushed to the Army Hospital in Baramulla for further treatment. It has been learnt that the condition of both armymen are stable.

Senior police officer of the area told IBNS that IED was planted on the road by militant agencies operating in Kashmir. He further said that police is collecting the details of the blast.

Soon after the incident, Army, Police and Special Operation Group (SOG) rushed to the spot and cordoned the whole area to nab or kill the militants believed to be hiding in the area. A combing operation has started to flush out the militants.
