Jammu, Mar 7 (IBNS): At least 18 people have been hurt in a grenade explosion at the main bus stand around noon here today, media reports said.

Most of the injured are bus drivers and conductors, said reports. The grenade was placed under a bus.

“Obviously the intention is always to disturb communal peace and harmony... The police is working on all the leads. We are collecting evidence and we will hunt them down,” Jammu inspector-general of police M.K. Sinha was quoted as saying by the media.

Police have cordoned off the blast site that is located in the heart of the city. Sniffer dogs have been deployed to check if there are more explosives.

The injured have been taken to Government Medical College and Hospital for treatment.

This is the third grenade explosion in the area in 10 months.
