12 Maoists killed in Jharkhand encounter

Ranchi, June 9 (IBNS) At least 12 suspected Maoists were killed in an encounter with the police in Jharkhand's Palamu district on Monday, said media reports.
Acting on a tip-off the police were waiting for the vehicle of the rebels to pass an area. When the ultras were spotted inside an SUV vehicle approaching the police, they were fired at.
 
A retaliatory fire followed leading to a gunbattle at the end of which 12 rebels were left dead. 
 
Police said they recovered lethal weapons, including AK 47 rifles, from the slain militants.
