11 hardcore NDFB(S) militants apprehended in Assam
Guwahati, Apr 22 (IBNS): Security forces have apprehended eleven hardcore militants belonging to NDFB(S) in Assam's Kokrajhar district in past 48 hours, officials said.
According to reports, security forces have nabbed six cadres of the outfit group from Parbatjhora reserve forest in the BTAD district on Wednesday.
Following a tip-off, army and police had jointly launched operation at the reserve forest and nabbed the militants, who involved in the massacre in Kokrajhar district in 2014.
The nabbed militants were identified as Gobla Basumutary alias B Gwnshwar, Preg Barmouh alias Daoharo, Shamkhar Mushahary, Rahul Khaklary alias Ridung, Babul Narzary alias Kantiswar alias Gajen and Swarang Boro alias Tekeka.
12 bore rifle, four pistols, five hand grenades and other war like stores were recovered from their possession.
"It was revealed by the nabbed terrorists that they were tasked by NDFB(S) to recruit new cadres from Kokrajhar and Chirang districts and carried out extortion activities, " Defence spokesman said.
BTAD IGP Dr LR Bisnoi said that, security personnel have apprehended five militants of the outfit from Ripu reserve forest in Kokrajhar district on Tuesday.
The nabbed militants were identified as Dilip Basumutary alias B Dawkhaw, Ananta Swargiary alias Agar, Philip Narzary alias N Puthaisala alias Fighter, Phukan Goyari and Sanjoka Brahma alias B Saogari.
Security forces recovered two pistols, four hand grenades, nine rounds live ammunition and other war like stores in possession of them.
