Srikanta Acharya's Rabindrasangeet album launched after 11 years

Kolkata, Aug 8 (IBNS) Picasso Entertainment launched a Rabindrasageet CD titled 'Anek Diner Gaan' by singer Srikanta Acharya on Thursday.

The CD was launched by singer Sumitra Sen. The launch was significant as the solo CD of the singer came out after a gap of 11 years.

Although new CDs with Srikanta’s songs came out in between they were either with other singers or they were old songs rehashed into new CDs.

“I have been thinking of singing Rabindrasangeet for a while when Picasso Entertainment approached me and I jumped at the opportunity to bring out the solo album,” said Srikanta Acharya.

Srabani Sen, the noted Rabindrasangeet singer, who co-owns Picasso Entertainment says, “This was a very special moment for us when Srikanta agreed to record his new Rabindrasangeet album with Picasso. We did not interfere at all and let him choose the songs he wanted to sing in his way and we are more than happy with the results.”

There are eight songs in the album. In keeping with the times and the present age of digital music the songs will be available for download in several websites and social network.
