SBI Life supports differently abled children in Kolkata

Kolkata, Aug 6 (IBNS): Taking its Corporate Social Responsibility initiative to newer heights, SBI Life has extended a helping hand by contributing towards the construction of a Hydrotherapy project of Alakendu Bodh Niketan Residential at Kolkata to support differently abled children.

This unit has 225 students and accommodates 75 students in their residential hostel.

The hydrotherapy project utilizes the buoyancy and support of water to facilitate functional movements of the children.

The therapy helps the children to relax, move their limbs and hands freely which increases blood circulation in the body thus reducing the impact of spastics.

It further helps eliminate pain and muscle spasm, improves and maintains body balance and fulfills sensory needs by multi-sensory equipment in the pool area.

Through this initiative, SBI Life contributes towards providing better healthcare services to these differently abled children.

Speaking about the initiative, Arijit Basu, MD & CEO, SBI Life, said, “SBI Life’s corporate ethos has always been about giving back to the society. Through this initiative, we shall create a meaningful change in the lives of differently abled children. We aim to play an important role in securing the future of our country by nurturing and protecting the health of children.”

M. Anand, Executive Director - Marketing, SBI Life, added, “The hydrotherapy project is a huge step towards the psychological well being of these children. Through this initiative SBI Life enforces its commitment towards building a better future for these children.”

The donation was handed over by Prem Vidyarthi, Regional Director, Kolkata Region, SBI Life, during a small function to Alakendu Bodh Niketan Residential.

He said, “We are glad to be associated with this reputed institute which is committed to serving disabled children and to make the lives these children better.”
