Kolkata/IBNS: The arts have always been supportive of positive feelings in society and accordingly, GiMA winning musician Pandit Prodyut Mukherjee, Padmasree Anup Jalota, and well-known trumpet player Kishore Sodha teamed up to say ‘no’ to war through a song titled ‘Roshni Ho Sarhadon Mein’.

The lyrics are by Neetu Saini and music composed by Pt Mukherjee, who also supervised the presentation which was conceptualised by Sudipta Chanda.

Singers Anup Jalota and Supratik Das were accompanied by Kishore Sodha on the trumpet and Abhik Ganguly on the piano.

The song is about the value of peace, the meaning of living in harmony.

Anup Jalota, who looks upon Pt Mukherjee as quite an all-rounder in the musical kingdom said he was delighted to collaborate with Pt Mukherjee for the song.

Kishore Sodha appreciated the lyrics and the soothing notes

Said Pt. Prodyut Mukherjee, "War brings negativity in our life. It makes our life miserable. It is highly damaging for economy. It is a gamble with life.”
He talked about the devastation wrought by wars, be it along the Indo-Chinese border or that between Russia and Ukraine, which prompted him to express his feelings through melodies.

Separately, Pt Mukherjee has introduced an initiative called ‘Green Tabla’ where damaged a damaged ‘tabla’ can be reused for tree plantations.
