Mahesh Sharma releases book on cultural heritage of Trans Himalayan HP

New Delhi, Mar 9 (IBNS) Dr. Mahesh Sharma , Minister for State (I/C) for Culture and Tourism and Minister of State for Civil Aviation, released a book entitled “The Culture Heritage of Trans Himalayas-Kinnaur” on Tuesday.
The book is authored by P.S. Nagi Loktus, IAS (retd.). 
 
At the book release, the Minister said that 73 per cent of the Himalayan ranges lie in India. The region has a vast tourism potential which needs to be harnessed. 
 
The book, published by IGNCA under Ministry of Culture, is a study of the cultural heritage of the trans-Himalayan area of Himachal Pradesh, especially Kinnaur; it has documented traditional institutions such as temples, monasteries, Bon chos, artefacts, forts and old dialects of various ethnic groups.
