Kolkata: Vedic Village Spa Resort, Foundation to Summit sign DEI partnership to promote inclusion

Foundation to Summit and Vedic Village Spa Resort, Rajarhat New Town, Kolkata, have signed a Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) partnership aimed at promoting inclusive workplaces and creating meaningful opportunities for persons with disabilities.

The collaboration reflects a shared commitment to advancing inclusion through awareness, engagement, skilling and impactful programmes.

The partnership was formalised in the presence of Rajib Roy Choudhury, Associate Vice President, Vedic Village Spa Resort, along with the resort’s Human Resources and Learning & Development teams. Mousumi Kar, Director – Programmes, Foundation to Summit, and Amit Sengupta, Trustee & President, Foundation to Summit, were also present.

Roy Choudhury said the partnership aligns with Vedic Village Spa Resort’s sustainability philosophy.

“At Vedic Village Spa Resort, our Biophilic Hub and Spoke Sustainability Model places people at the heart of ESG. This partnership with Foundation to Summit reflects our belief that inclusion is fundamental to sustainable growth. By creating opportunities for persons with disabilities, we are advancing the spirit of the UN Sustainable Development Goals and reaffirming that an inclusive workplace is not just good business — it is the hallmark of responsible hospitality and a truly sustainable future,” he said.

He added that the resort’s approach to sustainability extends to creating diverse and inclusive workplaces.

“Our partnership with Foundation to Summit reflects this philosophy. As an AQI Green Resort, we believe that just as biodiversity enriches nature, human diversity enriches organisations. Inclusion is not an initiative; it is a cornerstone of resilient, responsible and future-ready hospitality. Together with Foundation to Summit, we aspire to build workplaces where every individual is valued, empowered and given the opportunity to thrive,” Roy Choudhury said.

Mousumi Kar said Foundation to Summit aims to empower persons with disabilities through education, skilling and sports.

“We have a vision of empowering persons with disabilities with education, skilling and sports. We look forward to working with corporate players and entrepreneurs towards inclusive workplaces and skilling and employability of persons with disabilities. This DEI partnership with Vedic Village Spa Resort is a significant step towards fulfilling this vision. I am thankful to the entire Vedic team and happy that we have aligned on the shared vision of DEI and having an inclusive society,” Kar said.

Kar further said Foundation to Summit will work with Vedic Village Spa Resort on a series of activities throughout the year to advance their shared DEI goals.

As part of the partnership, a special inclusive sports initiative, ‘Freedom to Excel’, is planned for cricketers with disabilities at Vedic Village Spa Resort on August 15, 2026, as part of India’s Independence Day celebrations.

Organisers said teams comprising cricketers with disabilities and visually impaired cricketers will get an opportunity to showcase their talent and skills in a corporate-style cricket tournament at the sports turf of Vedic Village Spa Resort.
