Kolkata: DPS Ruby Park clinches Jefferson Junior Debate title

U.S. Consulate Kolkata in partnership with iLead hosted the second edition of Jefferson Junior Debate at the American Center in Kolkata recently.

As many as 48 students from 16 schools participated in the debate.

Moderated by Consular Officer Anne Vasquez, the topic of the debate was ‘U.S.-India strategic relationship will contribute towards regional stability in South Asia.’

American Center Deputy Director Juan Clar, Professor and poet Dr Somrita Urni Ganguly and Advisor of Indian Export Organisation Founder- East India Trade Advisors Debdatta Nandwani were present at the event as judges with Delhi Public School Ruby Park emerging victorious following an intense session of debating.

The winners were:

First: DPS, Ruby Park

Second: Assembly of God Church, Park Street.

Third: Garden High School

Best Speaker: Soumadri Bhattacharya of Assembly of God Church, Park Street.
