The flagship store of KaratKrafter, a boutique redefining fine jewellery, was recently unveiled in Kolkata.

The store is located at Shantiniketan Building, 8 Camac Street.

Founded by husband-wife duo Sajal and Rahul Kapoor, KaratKrafter LLP is the city’s first dedicated Lab-Grown Diamond & Coloured Gemstone Boutique-cum-Office.

The brand combines Kolkata’s traditional craftsmanship with contemporary global design.

The event was graced by Prasad Kapre, a respected jewellery industry analyst, CEO and Director at Style Quotient Jewellery and Former Business Director of De Beers India, who attended as the Guest of Honour.

Speaking at the launch, Kapre said, “Kolkata has always been a cultural and creative capital of India, especially in the gems and jewellery industry. I am delighted to see Karat Krafter bring innovation in the form of lab-grown diamonds and coloured gemstones — a new chapter in fine jewellery.”

Sajal, an alumna of GIA New York (2010–2011), has over 15 years of experience in jewellery design in the natural diamond industry.

Her vision lies in using lab-grown diamonds as a sustainable medium that allows for creative freedom without compromising on luxury.

“Jewellery should reflect who you are,” she says, “and lab-grown diamonds allow us to push boundaries of design while remaining true to craftsmanship and elegance.”
