New Delhi/IBNS: Room tariffs at several hotels, including five-star properties, have surged sharply in Delhi ahead of the India AI Impact Summit, media reports said.

The summit will be held at Bharat Mandapam in the national capital from February 16 to 20.

Hotel rooms that usually cost between Rs 20,000 and Rs 40,000 per night are currently being offered at significantly higher rates, while rooms at premium five-star hotels are reportedly selling for a few lakh rupees per night.

High-end suites and club rooms at flagship properties such as The Leela Palace, ITC Maurya and Taj Palace have seen prices soar into the lakhs.

A Premier Room at The Leela Palace is currently priced at Rs 1,19,000 per night, while a Royal Club Room costs Rs 1,41,000, excluding taxes, for stays between February 16 and 20.

Similarly, a Heritage Suite at The Imperial is priced at Rs 2,02,500 per night, excluding taxes, reflecting the steep spike in tariffs.

Aloke Bajpai, CEO of travel portal Ixigo, highlighted the impact of the summit on hotel prices in Delhi NCR.

“The India AI Impact Summit has surely impacted hotel rates in Delhi NCR. Several 5-star hotels in Delhi are going at Rs 1 lakh+ per night between February 16 and 20,” Bajpai posted on X.

The summit, announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the France AI Action Summit, is expected to be attended by foreign delegates, global speakers and leading technology figures, including Sundar Pichai, Sam Altman and Bill Gates.

The India AI Impact Summit aims to shape inclusive and responsible artificial intelligence that delivers tangible social and economic value. Its key objectives include promoting international cooperation on AI policy and governance, focusing on AI for societal good—such as equity, sustainability and empowerment—and encouraging business adoption, innovation and investment in AI.
