Harshavardhan Neotia announces the launch of The Neotia University

Kolkata, Apr 10 (IBNS) To promote holistic learning and to inculcate it among the Gen Y students Harshavardhan Neotia, Chairman, Ambuja Neotia Group announced his next endeavor, The Neotia University, a self financed university all set to start its operation from this July.

The campus situated at Sarisa, some 40 kilometers away from Kolkata boasts a 50 acres campus and is well equipped with hostel, gymnasium, sports grounds, banks, post office and 24×7 internet connectivity.

The university will consist of nine schools, School for Performing Arts and Visual Arts, School of Liberal Arts, School of Languages, School of Infotainment, School of Energy Studies, School of Manufacturing and Technology, School of Marine Sciences, School of Marine Biotechnology and Bioinformatics and Rabindranath Tagore Centre for Human Values School of Continuing Education.

It will offer several UG and PG courses.

“It is a long cherished desire to be in the education space. We had been hoping to set up a university.” Neotia said while addressing the media and press.

He further said, “The big dream is to have 12,000-15,000 students over the next five years.”

When quizzed about the infotainment sector he said, “It is an area of tremendous growth.”

A. S. Kolaskar, Vice Chancellor, TNU said, “We need a change of attitude towards our education system.”

About the university he said, “It’s a new age university and we are trying to provide a holistic education.”

The tuition fees can range in between INR 1, 50,000- INR 5, 00,000 per annum depending on the discipline.

The university will also arrange for bank loans and will provide scholarship to the under privileged students.
