Google brings Gemini Spark to Chrome. How will it benefit you?

| @justearthnews | Aug 05, 2026, at 05:58 pm

Tech giant Google has announced the integration of Gemini Spark's web browsing capabilities into its Chrome browser, enabling users to automate a range of online tasks with the help of its AI assistant.

Google describes Gemini Spark as a 24/7 personal AI agent that operates in the background and can continue working on assigned tasks even when a user's phone or computer is not actively in use.

The AI assistant functions autonomously based on user instructions, helping complete routine web-based activities.

Announcing the integration in a blog post, Google said: "We're taking Spark's web browsing capabilities even further by integrating directly with Chrome."

"Now, with your permission, Spark can use your logged-in accounts and saved passwords to handle tedious web errands, like scheduling viewings for apartments you've saved or researching flight options and starting the booking process," the company said.

Google added that the feature has been designed with security safeguards to protect users from threats such as prompt injection while keeping them informed before carrying out sensitive actions, including payments.

The new capabilities are being rolled out initially in the United States, with plans to expand availability to additional regions in the future.
