Future Generali India Insurance celebrates International Women’s Day 2023

Kolkata: Future Generali India Insurance celebrated International Women’s Day 2023, by hosting eminent women leaders from diverse professions at their Vikhroli office in Mumbai.

The event witnessed a panel discussion hosted by Ruchika Varma, CMO, Future Generali India Insurance and participated by celebrated personalities such as Faye D'Souza, Journalist, Masaba Gupta, Fashion Designer & Actor, Pooja Dhingra, Pastry Chef & Founder, Le15 Patisserie and Anita Bhogle, Partner, Prosearch Consultants. Noted Comic Actor, Sumukhi Suresh also enthralled the audiences with her stand-up act during the event.

The panel discussion witnessed eminent panelists decoding how high expectations dissuade women from following their passion like men.

These labels unnecessarily create invisible barriers for women and take a toll on their performance, health and wellness at the workplace and at home.

The panelists presented diverse views to address various facets of the issue – ranging from confidence, equality and the need to build a culture of women speaking up to share their concerns and presenting their views.

Masaba Gupta, Fashion Designer & Actor, said, “Women should feel confident about themselves as beauty is not only about looks but the entire personality and how good you are at your work.”

Ruchika Varma, CMO, Future Generali India Insurance, said, “Men stand up for themselves and demand what they want - be it an increment, promotion or address issues at the workplace. On the contrary, women rarely approach me and do the same. If someone feels they are doing good work, they should speak for themselves, and there is nothing wrong in demanding what you deserve. Sometimes women are left behind even after doing good work because they don't speak up for themselves.”

Anita Bhogle, Partner, Prosearch Consultants, added, “Organisations need to acknowledge and compensate women for the role they deserve. Similarly, when it comes to household work, men must get involved while women should also contribute to household expenses.”
