Kolkata, Sep 13 (IBNS): Nakshi, an organisation that works with artisan clusters across India, has launched its festive fashion wear that draws inspiration from art forms across the globe.

Called the 'Pujo Tribe' the collection consists of contemporary silhouettes, stylish cuts, vibrant colours and traditional prints.

The collection is inspired by four art forms.

Ottoman has been inspired by the Turkish empire’s gorgeous geometric patterns, opulent material and exceptional colours and merged with traditional Indian silhouettes.

Nawab has been inspired by the rich culture and heritage of Nawabs in India and the elegance and grandeur of the era has been expressed through fine fabrics, rich colours and intricate embroidery.

Gond has taken inspiration from Gond paintings practiced by the tribes from Madhya Pradesh, and have been recreated by using thin thread for embroidering the motifs on fabrics like Silk Tussar and Chanderi.

Bengal Patachitra, which depicts mythological, religious stories, folklore and social subjects, have been recreated on textile by the traditional Patachitra artists.

Nilima Ghosh, Founder  and Advisor, said, "The Pujo Tribe collection from Nakshi is a beautiful amalgamation of traditional art forms with modern silhouettes, which is the perfect blend of tradition with modernity. As always, this collection too has something for everyone, and Nakshi is elated to be a part of the Durga Puja Celebrations.”

In Kolkata, the collection is available in Nakshi’s stores located in Salt Lake, Eco Park, Diamond Plaza Jessore Road, Gariahat, Star Mall Madhyamgram and City Center 2.

It will also be available on their website - http://nakshicreations.in/.

Nakshi was incorporated in 2012 to provide necessary support and training to the artisans to develop a sustainable and inclusive business model that develops and promotes indigenous crafts skills and creativity.
