Elon Musk says AI will take all jobs but give humans more freedom

| @indiablooms | Oct 23, 2025, at 09:50 pm

Elon Musk has long been an advocate of artificial intelligence, often predicting how deeply it will reshape human life. In his latest remarks, the Tesla and X chief claimed that AI would eventually take over all human jobs — a shift he believes will ultimately benefit humanity by granting people more freedom.

Responding to a post on X suggesting Amazon plans to replace 1,60,000 workers with AI and robots by 2027, Musk wrote, “AI and robots will replace all jobs.”

His comment sparked alarm across the platform, prompting him to clarify that this change should be seen as an opportunity, not a threat.

“Working will be optional, like growing your own vegetables, instead of buying them from the store,” Musk said, adding that in the future, people will enjoy “universal high income,” allowing them to live comfortably without needing regular employment.

Musk’s vision paints a utopian world where AI performs the heavy lifting while humans lead fulfilling lives.

However, such an outcome appears distant, as widespread job displacement and industrial transformation are already unfolding in real time.

The billionaire made similar remarks earlier at VivaTech 2024, reinforcing his belief that AI’s rise could mark the beginning of an era where working by choice becomes the norm — though experts remain sceptical about when, or if, such a future will arrive.
