Durga Puja celebrations reach peak on Maha Navami

Kolkata, Oct 18 (IBNS): Durga Puja celebrations reached its peak on Thursday as people set out early on the streets of Kolkata on Maha Navami, to make the most of the penultimate day of the four-day festival.

Despite rains, large number of people were seen hopping from one pandal to another in the morning.

The Nabopotrika was worshiped along with Noibiddo and flowers.

Special Navami aarti was also performed to worship the deity.

With just one day left in the greatest annual celebrations of the Bengalis, Kolkata is all set for a crowded and busy evening amid all glamour and glitterati.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday wished the nation and tweeted: "May Maa Siddhidhatri's blessings bring success, good health and well-being in everyone's lives. Here is a Stuti."
