The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced the tentative date sheets for the 2026 Class 10 and 12 board examinations.

The exams are scheduled to be conducted between February 17 and July 15, 2026, covering a wide range of assessments.

The examinations during this period will include the main board exams for Classes 10 and 12, specialized tests for sports students (Class 12), second board exams (Class 10), and supplementary examinations (Class 12).

According to CBSE, nearly 45 lakh students are expected to appear across 204 subjects in India and 26 countries abroad, making the exercise one of the largest annual examinations in the world.

To ensure the timely declaration of results, CBSE has outlined a strict evaluation schedule. The assessment of answer scripts will begin approximately 10 days after each subject’s exam and is expected to be completed within 12 days.

For example, if the Class 12 Physics exam is held on February 20, 2026, its evaluation would begin on March 3 and conclude by March 15.

CBSE has also clarified that the released date sheets are tentative and will be finalized only after schools submit the final list of candidates.
