Kolkata, June 12 (IBNS): American speciality retailer of children's clothes and accessories, 'The Children's Place', under the aegis of its Indian franchisee, Arvind Lifestyle Brands Division, recently opened a store in South City Mall in Kolkata.

'The Children's Place', founded in 1969, operates about 1,000 stores in the US and Puerto Rico.

In India, the brand opened its first store two and half years ago in Bengaluru and followd it up with 10 outlets across Bengaluru, Mumbai, Chennai, Kochi, Pune, Noida, and Ludhiana.

Alok Dubey, CEO, Arvind Lifestyle Brands Division, said, "We have chosen South City over all other places for our store because it is the best mall in Kolkata."

When asked about the future prospects and the expectation from the buyers in Kolkata, he told IBNS, "We are very optimistic and Kolkata has big marketing opportunities as far as our brand is concerned."

"In the next couple of years we will probably have more stores around the city based on the performance of this one," he said.
