Airtel, Round Table India announces the launch of ‘Airtel Run for Education, 2016’

Kolkata, Nov 4 (IBNS): Round Table India, the national social service organization, and Bharti Airtel today announced the 3rd Edition of Airtel Run for Education 2016, Kolkata– a fund raising sporting event contributing towards the cause of education for underprivileged children.

The 2016 leg of this annual event will be held on Nov 27, flagging off from the City Centre I Salt Lake and expects to see participation of over 8,000 runners from across Kolkata.

Present at the launch of Airtel Run for Education were seven eminent panelist including the lady of the hour Michelle Kakade (fame: Guinness World Record Holder for ‘fastest time to travel’ the Great Indian Quadrilateral Run in 193 days: 1 hour: 9mins) ; Vir Inder Nath, Bharti Airtel Ltd CEO of West Bengal and Odisha; Subir Saha Director of Medfit; Manpreet Singh ‘Raja’, Round Table India(RTI) National President; Kunal Khilani, Race Director and Marathon Convener, Sandeep Harabjanka, RTI Area IV Chairman; Shobhan Kumar, Hyatt Director of Operations; anchored by Sonika Chuahan.

The key message by the speakers was to propagate the importance of education with a credo, ‘there is enlightenment in education.’
 
The event was followed by the showcase of Bib as a kick-start to Airtel Run For Education 2016 by Manpreet Singh ‘Raja’, Round Table India (RTI) National President and other members.

He took this opportunity to express his gratitude and said, “Round Table India has taken up the noble cause to nurture the education of the underprivileged children of the society, by giving them freedom through education. We are honored and humbled by the immense support received from corporate to media and the people of Kolkata belonging to all walks of life.”

Commenting at the launch, Vir Inder Nath, CEO - West Bengal & Odisha, Bharti Airtel Limited, said, “We are truly excited to be a part of Airtel Run for Education 2016, synergistic with our core brand value of creating a positive impact, by bringing thousands of people together to celebrate the spirit of running for a noble cause. Beginning with 2014 we have had the chance to support the cause of education for underprivileged children through this event, I would urge all Kolkata citizens to participate, assure their full support to make this event a great success”.
