Pakistan struggles against rise in COVID-19 cases, positivity rate nears 10 percent

Islamabad: Pakistan is struggling against COVID-19 surge in the nation and the positivity rate is now nearing 10 percent.

Pakistan's coronavirus cases rose by 3,795 in the past 24 hours, raising the tally to 420,294, reports Geo News quoting data issued by the National Command and Operations Centre (NCOC).

For the first time in five months, the country's case positivity rate climbed to 9.7% with SARS-CoV-2 being detected in 3,795 samples out of the total 39,076 PCR tests conducted throughout Pakistan, reports the news channel.

The country also recorded 37 new COVID-19 deaths in the past 24 hours.
