Pakistan records 144 new COVID-19 deaths

Islamabad: Pakistan is continuing to witness a spike in COVID-19 related deaths as 144 new casualties were reported in the past 24 hours, media reports said.

The death toll due to the disease now stands at 16842.

  According to the latest data by the National Command and Operation Centre on its official web portal, 5,870 new coronavirus cases have been recorded, reported Geo News.

At least 53,818 coronavirus tests were conducted across the country in the last 24 hours, out of which 5,870 came back positive, the news channel reported.
