Mumbai records over 9,000 Covid-19 cases, 27 deaths

Mumbai/IBNS: Mumbai reported over 9,000 Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours, the highest single day spike ever, along with 27 deaths.

According to Mumbai's municipal body, the Brihanmumbai Corporation or BMC, Maharashtra's capital recorded 9,090 cases, taking the total number of active cases to 62,187.

In the last 24 hours, 5,322 people were discharged, after which the total recoveries stand at 3,66,365.

With these the recovery rate has plunged to 83 per cent.

Among the deceased 21 patients had comorbidities. While 19 were above the age of 60, seven were between 40 to 60 years, the state government said in a statement.

One of the people, who died, was below 40 years.

Maharshtra reported 49,447 coronavirus cases and 277 deaths in a day. This is Maharashtra's highest ever single-day increase in Covid-19 cases

Yesterday, Maharashtra had reported 47,827 cases and 202 deaths.
