Kuwait returnee tests Omicron positive in Andhra Pradesh's Konaseema

Kakinada/UNI: A woman, who had returned from Kuwait to her native place Nedunuru Pedapalem village of Ayinavilli Mandal in Andhra Pradesh's Konaseema on Dec 19, was tested positive and she was kept in quarantine, said Dr Goureswerarao, District Medical and Health Officer (DMHO).

He told media persons that the woman’s blood sample was collected at Gannavaram Airport on her return on Dec 19 and sent for testing to virology Lab at Hyderabad and the test report received last night found Omicron positive.

Her family members’ blood samples were collected and sent for testing. It is the first Covid variant Omicron reported in the district, he added.
