Jammu and Kashmir: Health Dept holds awareness camp at Ramban

New York: An awareness programme was Sunday organized by the Health Department regarding Kusht Mukti Abhiyan ( anti leprosy drive) here at District Hospital Ramban.

Chief Medical Officer Ramban, Dr. Mohammad Fareed Bhat, Dy. CMO Dr. Iqbal Bhat, Medical Superintendent, Doctors, Para medical staff and general public attend the programme.

Speaking on the occasion, the CMO sensitized the participants about Leprosy and explained the steps being taken to eradicate disease from the society. He said that Leprosy disease is fully curable at all stages and is not a communicable disease. He said signs and symptoms help to detect the Leprosy cases easily.

On the occasion, Information Education and Communication material on the disease was also distributed among the general public by the health department.

Dy.  CMO  urged the participants to maintain physical distancing and wash hands at regular intervals to prevent spread of Covid. He said hygienic practices and self-discipline are imperative for containing spread of COVID-19.
