Iran's confirmed COVID-19 cases surpass 107,000

Tehran/Xinhua/UNI: The Iranian health ministry announced 1,383 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 on Sunday, bringing the total number of infections in the country to 107,603, official IRNA news agency reported.

Jahanpur put the number of recovered people at 86,143, saying that 2,675 patients are still in critical condition and under treatment.

So far, 586,699 lab tests for COVID-19 have been carried out in the country, he noted.

Iran announced its first cases of COVID-19 on Feb. 19.
