India reports 7,081 fresh COVID-19 infections in last 24 hrs, 126 total Omicron cases in country

New Delhi/IBNS: India on Sunday recorded 7,081 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours, the Union Ministry of Health stated in its daily bulletin on Sunday.

The country's active caseload currently stands at 83,913, which is lowest in 570 days and is less than 1 percent of total cases, currently at 0.24 percent.

Meanwhile, India's total Omicron cases rose to 126 on Saturday after Karnataka and Kerala reported six and four cases respectively.

The recovery rate in the country currently stands at 98.38 percent, which is the highest since March 2020.

Around 7,469 recoveries were registered in the last 24 hours, increasing the total recoveries to 3,41,78,940.

On the vaccination front, a total of 137.46 crore doses have been administered so far under the Nationwide Vaccination Drive.
