India reports 36,401 new COVID-19 cases in 24 hours

New Delhi/IBNS: India reported 36,401 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours, the Union Health Ministry said in a bulletin Thursday.

The toll in the same span of time went up by 530.

On a day the COVID-19 testing crossed 50 crore, the active cases stand at 3,64,129, the lowest in 149 days.

The recovery rate has further improved to 97.53%, the highest since March 2020, with 39,157 COVID-19 patients recovering in 24 hours between Wednesday and Thursday mornings.

So far in the country, 56.64 crore vaccine doses have been administered, according to the government data.
