New Delhi/IBNS: India added 18,987 COVID-19 cases while the toll went up by 246 in the last 24 hours, the Union Health Ministry stated Thursday.

The active cases are now at 0.61%, the lowest since Mar 2020.

In 24 hours between Wednesday and Thursday mornings, 19,808 COVID-19 patients have recovered.

The recovery rate is presently at 98.07%, the highest since Mar 2020.

Under the national vaccination drive, 96.82 crore anti-COVID-19 vaccine doses have been administered so far in the country.

Though the COVID-19 figures are controlled across the nation, health experts fear the cases may rise in West Bengal, where people are gathering in huge numbers to celebrate Durga Puja.
