New Delhi: India, the country which witnessed a devastating second wave of the pandemic, recorded 38,948 new COVID-19 cases in the past 24 hours, as per the Ministry of Health released data on Monday.

Active cases account for 1.23% of total cases, as per data released by the Ministry.

India's Active caseload stands at 4,04,874.

Recovery Rate currently at 97.44%.

Indians fought hard for a hospital bed and even oxygen supply when cases spiked earlier this year.

The increase in deaths due to the virus also overwhelmed crematoriums and burial grounds.
