India records 1,61,736 new COVID-19 cases, 879 deaths in past 24 hours

New Delhi: India recorded 1,61,736 new COVID-19 cases in the past 24 hours and 879 deaths due to the virus in the past 24 hours, as per the data released by the Ministry of Health on Tuesday.

India has registered 1,36,89,453 COVID-19 cases so far.

There are 12,64,698 active cases in the country at present.

The death toll due to the disease now stands at 1,71,058.
