IMD predicts some parts of Kerala may experience heavy rainfall between May 25 to May 27, 11 deaths recorded

The India Meteorological Department has predicted some parts of Kerala may experience heavy rainfall between May 25 to May 27.

"Heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at isolated places in Kerala on 25th to 27 th May 2024," IMD said in a statement.

" Rain or thundershower is most likely to occur at most places in Kerala on 24th , 25 th , 29th & 30th and in Lakshadweep on 24 th , 29th & 30th and at many places in Kerala from 26th to 28th and in Lakshadweep from 25th to 28th May 2024," the statement said.

IMD issued a 'yellow warning' for Kasaragod, Kannur, Kozhikode, Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Alappuzha & Ernakulam regions of Kerala.

According to State Revenue Minister K. Rajan, Kerala has reported at least 11 rain-related deaths from May 9 to May 23, reported India Today.

These deaths include six drownings, two quarry accidents, two lightning strikes, and one house collapse.
