Dry run of COVID-19 vaccination begins in Assam

Guwahati/IBNS: Along Punjab, Gujarat and Andhra Pradesh, the dry run exercise of the Covid-19 vaccination programme began on Monday in Assam.

The exercise is being carried out in Nalbari and Sonitpur districts of the state.

125 beneficiaries have been identified in each Nalbari and Sonitpur district.

According to the Assam state health department, under the dry run exercise of the COVID-19 vaccination, necessary data entry in Co-WIN, online platform for monitoring of vaccine delivery, testing receipt and allocation, deployment of team members, mock drill of session sites with test beneficiaries will be conducted.

Assam Health Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma said that, the state health department has made all preparations for the dry run exercise.

“We have taken all measures and beneficiaries have also been identified for the exercise. All preparations are ready as per SOP provided by the government of India,” Himanta Biswa Sarma said.

On the other hand, Deputy Commissioner of Sonitpur district Manavendra Pratap Singh said that, the district health department has made all preparations.

“A total of 125 beneficiaries have been identified in five different locations in the district,” the Deputy Commissioner said.
