Covid-19: 12 migrant workers test positive in UP's Siddharthnagar

Siddharthnagar/UNI: With 12 migrant labourers returning from other states testing positive for the novel coronavirus, the total number of patients increased to 163 in this Uttar Pradesh district on Wednesday.

Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Seema Rai said that all the workers, who tested positive, had been home quarantined upon their return.

The CMO said that the samples of 206 suspects have been sent for testing today while 16 other patients, who had recovered, have been discharged.

Dr Rai said that out of the 163 patients found in the district, six succumbed to the infection while 114 others were discharged after recovering completely.

Among the 43 remaining patients, 22 are undergoing treatment at Covid-19 Birdpur, 7 in Khalilabad, 6 in Rudhauli, 6 in Basti and 2 in Gorakhpur Medical College.

The CMO said that the reports of 3,841 suspected patients have been received so far while the results of 269 are awaited.
