Coronavirus lockdown : A small village in Manipur sets an example by distributing vegetables to nearby nine villages

Imphal/IBNS: At a time when many people across the country are facing lot of problems, difficulties, due to the Coronavirus lockdown, a small village in Manipur has set an example by distributing free vegetables to nearby villages.

The villagers of Konsa-Khul – a small village in Manipur’s Kangpokpi district have shown humanity in this crucial time and distributed vegetables to other nearby villages located in hilly areas.

According the reports, the villagers of Konsa-Khul have collected vegetables from all families of the village and on Tuesday distributed around two truckload vegetables to nine nearby villages.

A local villager of Konsa-Khul said that, the people of all nine villages were facing scarcity of vegetables and food items during the lockdown period.

“We are living in very remote areas. All markets, shops have shut down duo to lockdown and many villagers are facing problems of shortage of food items, vegetables. In this situation, we discussed with other people of our village about how to help the other villages. Finally, we have decided to help them by providing vegetables,” the local villager of Konsa-Khul said.

Manipur has reported two positive cases for COVID-19.
