Coronavirus: 2,826 people under observation in Kerala

Thiruvananthapuram/UNI: As many as 2,826 people were placed under surveillance in the state, of which 83 were in the isolation wards in different hospitals, the Health Department said in a statement here on Thursday.

"Out of 263 blood samples sent to the Virology Institute, the results of 229 tested negative. We are also awaiting the lab reports of others," it said.

Three foreign tourists who reached Kerala were placed under observation.

Earlier, Health Minister KK Shailaja urged the Centre to provide more funds for setting up facilities in health centres to control the spread of deadly Novel Coronavirus in Kerala where three tested positive to the deadly disease.
