WAAREE ramps up its module manufacturing capacity to 12GW

Mumbai: WAAREE, a solar panel manufacturer, currently has a 9 GW module Manufacturing facility operational further company setting up additional module Manufacturing capacity which will take companies module Manufacturing capacity to 12 GW for a 650-watt module by March 2023.

This will be the largest module manufacturing capacity in the world outside of China.

WAAREE is the lone manufacturer in India approved by ALMM to ship high-wattage panels, i.e. 650WP along with 600WP and 540WP, from its manufacturing facilities in Surat, Chikhli, Tumb, and Nandigram. With the addition of Indo solar, modules will be made at Greater Noida in NCR for the Domestic market in Q3 of 2022.  Waaree has emerged as the leading supplier of solar modules as per a report by JMK & holds a lion’s share of 17% of the total shipment. Nearly 85% of the modules shipped were high-efficiency mono-perc technology.

Hitesh Doshi, Chairman & Managing Director, of WAAREE Energies, said,  “2022 was a very eventful year for Solar Manufacturing, country took more than 15 years to reach a module manufacturing capacity of 10 GW and in less than one year in 2022 county has established over 30 GW’s and is marching towards reaching 100 GW. Thanks to our Government's focus on energy security, Atamnirbhar Bharat, boosting local employment & conserving our forex. The implementation of Import duty (BCD) and ALMM has changed the import oriented market to domestic manufacturing. With policies in place now, Made in India will further grow due to PLI 2 in 2023 .WAAREE  is committed to make in India . There are a huge number of projects   Waiting to be deployed which will need solar panels in the coming one year. This expansion will help buyers in all respects .

Waaree became the first module manufacturer In India to get NABL Accreditation for its PV module test lab (PMTL) at Tumb location. A similar lab will be set up at Sri Godiji plant and will house world-class testing equipment capable of performing more than 30 critical IEC tests. WAAREE's Lab is also India's first IEC-CB-CTF (Customer test facility) from Intertek, for reliability testing and certification.

To meet upcoming   Domestic demand Waaree is not only expanding  its capacity but will also provide the latest high efficiency technologies like top con and HJT. WAAREE retains its leadership position with the commitment to its diversified expansion plans by acquiring Indosolar Limited which will facilitate the capacity augmentation of solar cell manufacturing to 5.4GW.  Waaree has been maintaining its position as a Tier-1 Module Manufacturer for five consecutive years on Bloomberg New Energy Finance (BNEF) list.

WAAREE has been recognized as "India's Best Brand" in the solar industry, by The Economic Times. PVEL, a globally recognized Lab in photovoltaic testing, has recently recognized WAAREE as the Top Performer in its 2022 Scorecard which validates our quality is at par with global standards.
