Mumbai: Volkswagen Passenger Cars India has registered a strong annual sales performance with a growth of 58% in 2022 (vs. 2021).

This result can be attributed to the overwhelming response received on India’s safest SUVW, the Taigun, striking & exhilarating Virtus, the global best-seller Tiguan and the continuous efforts by the brand towards enhancing customer experience.

Volkswagen India’s biggest highlight of 2022 was the Taigun being adjudged with a 5-star GNCAP rating for adult and child occupants, making it India’s safest SUVW.  Followed by receiving 25+ awards and recognitions on the Volkswagen Taigun and Virtus by esteemed media publications, globally and in India.

The Brand also witnessed an outstanding demand for its young and refreshed product portfolio, leading to the expansion of the Volkswagen network to 159 sales and 126 service touchpoints in 118 cities across India. The Brand expanded its network across cities such as Jammu, Agra, Delhi NCR, Nagpur, Kolkata, Arcot Road and Rajahmundry. In addition, 85% of the Volkswagen network is ISO 14001:2015 compliant, with a target to achieve 100% in 2023.

Commenting on the overall performance, Ashish Gupta, Brand Director, Volkswagen Passenger Cars India said, “The strong performance by Volkswagen in 2022 is a testament to the right brand and product strategy developed for our Indian customers. The Brand has witnessed many positive achievements, one of the biggest being the 5-star GNCAP on the Volkswagen Taigun. The successful close to the year 2022 makes us strive even harder towards making Volkswagen a loved brand, offering our customers the best of German-engineering and world-class services through our network. We are confident of making 2023 even bigger and better, as we accelerate and enhance the brand further, for our customers.”
