Suzlon Q1 earnings disappoint! Stock drops as profit and margins take a hit

| @indiablooms | Jul 29, 2026, at 12:32 pm

Mumbai/IBNS: Shares of Suzlon Energy Ltd. fell more than 3 percent in intraday trade on Wednesday after the wind energy major reported a decline in net profit for the June quarter despite posting strong revenue growth.

The stock slipped 3.19 percent to an intraday low of Rs. 46.49 after opening at Rs. 48. It later recovered partially to touch an intraday high of Rs. 48.70.

Q1 FY27 Earnings

For the quarter ended June 30, 2026 (Q1 FY27), Suzlon reported a net profit of Rs. 305 crore, down 6 percent year-on-year from Rs. 324 crore.

However, revenue from operations rose 22.5 percent year-on-year to Rs. 3,819 crore, compared to Rs. 3,117 crore in the corresponding quarter last year, driven by higher project execution and turbine deliveries.

Margins Under Pressure

The company's EBITDA stood at Rs. 595 crore, marginally lower than Rs. 599 crore reported a year ago.

Its EBITDA margin declined to 15.6 percent from 19.2 percent in the year-ago period, reflecting pressure from logistics disruptions, strategic investments and changes in the project mix.

Revenue Growth Fails to Lift Sentiment

Despite healthy revenue growth, investors focused on the decline in profitability and margins, prompting selling in the stock during early trade.

Market participants are closely monitoring Suzlon's execution pipeline and margin recovery, even as the company continues to benefit from strong demand for renewable energy solutions and a robust order book.
