Stock market opens in green with Nifty near 22,600

Mumbai/IBNS: The Indian benchmark indices, led by positive cues from global peers, opened in the green on Friday (Apr 26).

At the opening bell, Nifty was up 15.10 points (0.07 percent) at 22,585.45 and Sensex was up 48.77 points (0.07 percent) at 74,388.21. About 1,617 shares advanced, 507 shares declined, and 108 shares remained unchanged.

Some major gainers on Nifty 50 were Tech Mahindra, Divi's Laboratories, LTIMindtree, Hindalco, and Tata Steel, while Bajaj Finance, Bajaj Finserv, Tata Consumer Products, Mahindra & Mahindra, and Eicher Motors were among the top drags.

Meanwhile, Tech Mahindra, Tata Steel, ITC, HDFC Bank, and Wipro were the top gainers on Sensex, while Bajaj Finance, Bajaj Finserv, Kotak Mahindra Bank, ICICI Bank, and SBI were among the biggest drags.

On Apr 25 (Thursday), the NSE Nifty closed at 22,570.30, up 167.90 points (0.75 percent), while the BSE Sensex settled the day at 74,339.44, up 486.50 points (0.66 percent).
