Sensex zooms 528.17 pts, breaches 67K mark

Maintaining a rally for the seventh straight session on Monday, the BSE sensex spurted 528.17 pts breaching 67,K level at 67,127.08 on firm global cues.

The Nifty gained 176.40 pts at 19,996.35 pts.

The Sensex opened higher at 66,807.75, rising 208 pts. It was spurted 573 pts at 67,172.13, day's high, before closing at 67,127.08, surging 528.17 pts from its previous close.

The stocks include BSE services, Telecommunications, Power and Utilities kept the rally intact.

BSE services up by 3.01 pc followed by Utilities by 2.43 pc, Telecommunications by 2.32 pc and Power by 2.04 pc.

In scrips, Power was a star gainer, up by 2.18 pc to be 264.40, Axis Bank by 1.99 pc to Rs 1000.20, Maruti Suzuki by 1.96 pc to Rs 10,534.90, HCL Technologies by 1.49 pc to Rs 1280.95 and SBI by 1.39 pc to Rs 591.55.

The losers were L& T by 0.27 pc to Rs 2894.05 and Bajaj finance by 022 pc to Rs 7393.

The Mid Cap went up by 1.20 pc and Small Cap by 0.70 pc.

In 30 scrips, 28 advanced while 2 declined.
