Sensex up by over 300 points

Mumbai/UNI: Extending the rally on Friday, the BSE Sensex advanced 310.98 points, breaching the 67K level at 67,299.42 in the opening session on strong global cues.

The National Stock Exchange (NSE) rose 97.15 points to 20,230.30.

The stocks, which include real estate, utilities, and industrials, edged up in early trade.

The Sensex registered intraday highs and lows at 67,311.60 and 67,149.07 points, respectively.

The Nifty registered intraday highs and lows at 20,238.45 and 20,183.70 pts, respectively.

The midcap gained 0.68 pc, and the smallcap gained 0.75 pc.

In 30 scrips, 23 advanced while 7 declined.

The gainers were L&T by 2.53 pc to Rs 3190.45, NTPC by 2.24 pc to Rs 267.15, Asian Paints by 2 pc to Rs 3182.55, Powergrid by 1.22 pc to Rs 211.50, and Sun Pharma by 1.10 pc to Rs 1240.65.

The losers were Wipro by 0.81 pc to Rs 409.90, Titan by 0.42 pc to Rs 3477.35, and Tech Mahindra by 0.35 pc to Rs 1216.30.
